What is in your Metro Audit
Six things we find before we ever get on the phone.
This is the same homework we do when we launch a client's metro. You get it free, on a 15-minute call, plus a written copy.
Every HVAC ad running in your metro
Who is advertising on Facebook and Instagram right now, what offers and hooks they use, and how long their ads have been live. Ads that run for months are usually the ones making money.
Your Google listing against the top 3
Reviews, star rating, photos, categories and where you show in the map results for searches like "AC replacement" and "new AC unit" in your city.
Replacement demand in your service area
How many owner-occupied homes are old enough to need a new system, and how many people search for AC replacement in your area each month.
Where your leads leak
What a homeowner sees when they land on your website or listing after hours, how they reach you, and where they are likely to give up and call the next company.
Is your metro still open?
We only work with one HVAC contractor per metro. The audit tells you straight whether yours is available.
Your written 90-day plan
A one-page plan you keep: which channel to start with, a realistic cost per booked estimate for your metro, and the first three things to fix. Use it with us, with another agency or on your own.
What to expect
A minute now. 15 minutes on the call. A plan you keep.
Step 1 60 seconds
Answer four quick questions
Your size, your job mix, where your work comes from and your service area. That's all we need to start digging.
Step 2 30 seconds
Pick a time that suits you
Choose a 15-minute slot on the next screen. Calls run Monday to Friday in US business hours, Central time.
Step 3 15 minutes
Get your findings and plan
Before the call we pull your metro's ads, listings and demand. On the call Sam walks you through what we found. Your written plan follows by email.
Nothing to prepare. No logins, no ad account access, no reports to dig up. Just turn up to the call, ideally somewhere you can look at a screen.

Who the audit is for
We'd rather tell you now than waste your 15 minutes.
A good fit
- Residential HVAC companies doing roughly $50k a month or more
- System replacements are a real part of your work, or you want them to be
- You have the crews to run more estimates and turn quotes around in a day or two
- You want booked estimates on your calendar, not a spreadsheet of names to chase
Probably not a fit
- One-truck shops that are already at capacity
- Mostly new-construction or builder sub-work
- You're looking for pay-per-lead pricing
- Your metro is already taken by another Scale Theory client
What HVAC owners say
We used to buy shared leads that three other contractors were calling at the same time. Now every estimate on the calendar is a homeowner who picked us. Our comfort advisor ran 16 replacement estimates last month.
On the first call they told us our budget was too light for summer and to start in March. No agency had ever turned our money down. We started in March and it was the right call.
The Friday report is four numbers: booked estimates, cost per booked estimate, jobs sold and revenue. I read it in two minutes and forward it straight to the owner.
I didn't believe the 60-second text until I saw it. A request came in at 9:40 on a Saturday night and was booked for Monday morning before I'd even checked my phone.
The ads stopped bringing in repair calls and single mini-split jobs. The six questions filter them out, so the calendar is full of system replacement estimates, which is the work we actually want.
Google picks up people whose AC just died. Meta finds the ones planning ahead before summer. Both feed one pipeline, and our slow months aren't slow anymore.
Everything runs in our own ad accounts and a CRM we log into. The last agency kept our Facebook ad account when we left. That's the reason I signed.
They only take one contractor in our metro. I'm not competing with my own agency for the same homeowner, and that mattered more to me than the price.
The follow-up texts after each estimate, on day 1, 3 and 7, win jobs we used to let go cold. Two of last month's system replacements came straight from the day-7 text.
A founder on every call
You talk to Sam, not a sales rep.
"I run every audit myself. I'd rather show you exactly what is happening in your metro and let the numbers do the talking."
We build lead systems for home service businesses: Facebook and Google ads, a six-question qualifier that filters out the price shoppers, and an assistant that texts every new lead and books the estimate on your calendar.
We're based in Sydney, Australia and work US hours. If it makes sense to work together after the audit, Sam will show you how it works. If it doesn't, he'll tell you, and the plan is still yours.

One HVAC contractor per metro.
When we take on a contractor, we stop working with their competitors in that metro. That's why every audit starts by checking whether yours is still open.
Questions
Before you claim your audit
Is it actually free?
Yes. No card, no invoice, no catch. You get the call and the written plan whether or not you ever work with us.
Will you try to sell me something on the call?
The first part of the call is your findings. If your metro is open and it looks like a fit, Sam will explain how we'd run it and what it costs. If it isn't a fit, he'll say so. Either way you keep the plan.
What do you need from me?
Just the answers in the form. We don't need logins, ad account access or reports. Everything in the audit comes from public data: ad libraries, Google listings, your website and housing and search data for your area.
How long does it take?
About a minute to request, and the call is 15 minutes. Your written plan arrives by email after the call.
I already work with an agency. Can I still get an audit?
Yes. Plenty of owners use the audit as a second opinion on what they're paying for. You can take the plan straight back to your current agency.
You're based in Australia. Why should I trust you?
Fair question. Your ads run on Facebook and Google, your leads come into a CRM you can log into, and your estimates land on your calendar. None of that changes with where we sit. We work US hours, and you'll have Sam's direct line.
What does "one contractor per metro" mean?
When a contractor in a metro signs with us, we don't take on their competitors in that metro. We won't run ads against our own client for the same homeowners.
